Twenty years ago this week: It was reported that members of the Canton South AARP went on a day trip on Nov. 7 to the Rock Hall of Fame and the Great Lakes Science Center. They enjoyed a delicious meal at the Watermark in the Flats followed by shopping at the Towers. They had a very nice trip and the weather was beautiful. Watch for the details of this trip in the coming weeks.)

The slate of officers was read and any nominations from the floor were taken. November members will vote for new officers for the 2017 year. Dues for 2017 are being collected any time before Dec. 31 by membership chairman Linda Jones. Dues are $5 per person and any member 85 years old by Dec. 31 does not owe any dues. The stimulus committee announced the September winners of the door prizes of Dairy Queen cards went to Alice Rial and Mary Lutz. The free dinner went to Charlene Johnson.
