Thoughts and prayers also to Marge Starcher, Helen Denkhaus and Joann Stallman.

Sympathy is extended to Selena Taylor and family on the death of her husband, Eric on Dec. 19.

The Trompower clan had their monthly gathering at the home of nephew, Rich and Angie Hattery on Dec. 23. There were approximately 50 family members present for the Christmas get-together. Everyone enjoyed delicious holiday food, lots of pies and cookies and all the trimmings. They had a gift exchange and also exchanged make and bake items. A home made crafted shadow box light made by Mike Trompower for everyone was the favorite of the evening. Out-of-state family members attending were Dave and Pam Trompower and son, Brent from Statesville, N.C. and Justin and Beth Burke and children, Boone, Charlotte and Jeremy from Denver, N.C.

We celebrated family Christmas exchange at the home of Michelle and Terry Hinkel on Christmas Eve with children, Josh and Curtis Schleappi. Also present were son, Mike and daughter-in-law, Michelle Trompower with Kristi and Travis. An earlier celebration the week before included granddaughter Shawnee Maertin and great-grandson Holden Maertin from Dundee, Michigan.

The Karcher Christmas celebration was hosted by Mary Karcher this year. Everyone had a great time celebrating with all the young children opening their presents and really good food!

Twenty years ago this week, congratulations were extended to Brian and Karma Ickes on the birth of their son, Kole Brian who was born on Dec. 27 at 7:27 P.M. He weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces and was 20 ° inches long. The proud grandparents are Carol and Jean Ickes and Johnny and Carolyn Pierson. This is the first grandchild for both sets of grandparents.

Thought for the week: "People are certainly peculiar--they want the front of the bus, the back of the church and the middle of the road." --Unknown
