The next AARP meeting is set for Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 11:30 a.m. at the Foltz Community Center The menu will be ham, augratin potatoes, vegetable and coleslaw. Bring small wrapped gifts for Bingo. Mark the gifts for a man or lady. AARP members welcome the chapter's new president Debbie Martin. Debbie has been busy setting up programs for the AARP meetings, and I can tell you the members will be happy with the entertainment. If you have never attended an AARP meeting, you are welcome to attend. If you would like to join, you can sign up at the meeting. Lunch is $7. You won't go away hungry. Attention to all seniors: Where can you go to exercise every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9-10 a.m.? The Foltz Community Center. The Louisville YMCA "Silver Sneakers" will be on hand to lead you through senior type moves. The cost is free.

Other Meetings taking place at the Foltz Community Center include a GECCDA Meeting and American Legion Meeting on Feb. 9. An American Legion pancake breakfast will be served Feb. 11. Nick McClelland, Derek Faiello, Marjorie and Bob Boals recently attended a Stony Brook Sea Wolves game to see and hang out with their new head coach, Jeff Boals. Even though the Sea Wolves came up short, they are still being inspired by this Sandy Valley alum.

Congratulations to Brandon Boggs on finishing 3rd place and Dominic Hoffrath on finishing in 2nd place at the OAC GlenOak District Wrestling Tournament. They both join teammate Bam Moyer in qualifying for the grade school state wrestling championships at the Covelli Center in Youngstown on March 25-26.

SVAA Snowbirds will meet on Sunday, Feb. 26 at the Westfield Mall food court at noon in Brandon, Florida. Looking forward to hearing how many attend this year.

Sandy Valley Youth Girls Softball will hold its sign ups at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church across from Sandy Valley Elementary. The dates and times are Feb. 11 and 18 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and Feb. 15 and 22 from 6-8 p.m. Bring a copy of the player's birth certificate if one is not on file. Sandy Valley High School Summer League Baseball will have a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Feb. 11 from 3-6 p.m. at the Sandy Valley Eagles. The cost is $7. There will also be a 50/50 drawing and other raffles.

A benefit rigatoni dinner for Wendy Neice will be held Saturday, Feb. 25 from 4-8 p.m. at St. Mary's Morges Fellowship Hall. Dinner will be by donation and all proceeds will help with medical expenses.

Reserve your place as a Jr. Pizza Maker! Tozzi's Restaurant in Magnolia will host a kid's cooking class on Saturday, Feb. 4 from noon-2 p.m. This is a hands on class with chef Mark Green, and participants will learn to make their own pizza. The cost is $15 per child, and parents must stay for class. Class size is limited to 20, so sign up now by calling the restaurant at 330-915-4993.

Make Tozzi's Restaurant the place to watch the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 5 at 5 p.m. The restaurant will offer steak night steak pricing and $10 spaghetti dinners. Appetizers will be available along with a limited menu. Root on your team and enjoy the game with friends at Tozzi's.
