Nearly 30 alumni attended the 2017 Sandy Valley Snowbird Reunion in Florida. The group looked like it had a great time reminiscing about the Valley.
Chase Elson Haimerl, a grandson of Gus and Jo Lane Elson, wrestles for Thomas Worthington High School in Worthington. He is advancing to districts. He will also be inducted into the National Honor Society this week.
Jo Lane and Gus Elson recently attended an Ohio State women's ice hockey game in Columbus. It was a tie game which resulted in an overtime win for Ohio State. A freshman player is a niece of the Elson's cousin.
Travis and Tina Loomis are the proud parents of their second son, Troy Clayton Loomis, born Feb. 16 at 5:06 p.m. He weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long. His paternal grandparents are Steve and Wendy Loomis and maternal grandparents are George and Judy Proudfoot. Paternal great grandparents from the valley are Geneva Devine and Faye Loomis.

The Sandy Valley Athletic Booster Club will hold a scotch doubles fundraiser on April 1 at Hall of Fame Lanes. Check in is at 8:30 p.m, and bowling starts at 9 p.m. Tickets prices are $30 per couple or $20 for a single. Tickets must be presented at the time of arrival and are non-transferable. Sandy Valley hosted a Division III OHSAA sectional wrestling tournament last weekend where the Cardinals placed third out of 12 teams. Sandy Valley finished with five district qualifiers. Placing in the top four and moving on were Caleb Blair in third place, Cooper Hemming and Hunter Stoffer in second place and Jacob Newell and Francesco Borsellino as sectional champions. Patrick Fitzgerald and Conner Finnicum placed fifth and will be district alternates. Districts will take place at Coshocton High School.
