Helping Hands is preparing for the upcoming school year.
"Last year we provided supplies to 129 children," said Becky Larson of the Helping Hands Network. "We have inventoried our leftover supplies and the list of supplies we are in need of is below."
School supplies may be dropped off at Helping Hands any Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. In order to prepare the supplies for distribution please have them to HHN by Aug. 8.
Items include book bags, 8 oz. Elmer's school glue, glue sticks, plastic school boxes, #2 pencils, crayola water colors, washable markers, two pocket folders (red, yellow, blue, green, purple only); plastic two pocket folders (red, yellow, blue, green, purple only), yellow highlighters, fiskar type school scissors, large pink erasers, zipper pencil pouch, wide ruled loose leaf paper, college ruled loose leaf paper, unlined index cards, 12 pack crayola colored pencils, wide ruled spiral bound one subject notebooks (red, yellow, blue, green), college ruled spiral bound one subject notebooks, cap erasers, and hand held pencil sharpeners. Note: colors are requested by the school. Helping Hands is in need of brown paper grocery bags to pack the supplies for distribution.
Helping Hands needs volunteers to pack up the school supply bags on Aug. 10, starting at 9 a.m. This usually only takes a couple of hours so it is a great opportunity to volunteer.
"As always, we are so appreciative of the generous support from our community," said Larson. "Thank you for helping our children prepare for learning this school year. Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to call me at 330-866-2005."
