Malone University track and field student-athletes were well represented when the Great Midwest Athletic Conference announced its All-Conference Teams on Monday afternoon.
The Malone men captured the first G-MAC Championship in Pioneer athletics history on Saturday while the women's squad earned a third-place finish.
Duke Taylor won the shot put with a new meet record of 47' 5.25". The impressive mark pushes Taylor up to eighth on the Pioneers' all-time list in the event.
Following their outstanding performances, 27 different Pioneers were recognized with either First, Second, Third or All-Freshman Team honors.
Malone swept the G-MAC's season-ending awards on the men's side. Head coach Mark McClure was named the conference's Men's Coach of the Year, sophomore Ashton Dulin (Reynoldsburg H.S.) earned the Men's Track Athlete of the Year Award, Taylor was tabbed G-MAC Men's Field Athlete of the Year and Ja'Vonee Brashears (Springfield H.S.) collected G-MAC Men's Freshman of the Year accolades.
