The Girls Division II District Bowling Tournament was held this past Friday at Shawnee Lanes.
With the top two teams moving on to Columbus, Sandy Valley saw its season come to an end with a sixth-place finish.
Minerva claimed the district title with a score of 3,765. Joining the Lady Lions in Columbus is Claymont with 3,616.
Washington was third with 3,425, followed by New Lexington with 3,201, St. Clairsville with 3,147, Sandy Valley with 3,051, Miami Trace with 3,050, Lynchburg-Clay with 3,015, East Liverpool with 2,927, and Harrison Central with 2,657.
The Lady Cardinals were sitting fifth after the opening three individual games with 2,286 pins.
Sandy Valley struggled in the six baker games, recording scores of 138-139-128-129-129-102.
Bri Hemming finished 14th with scores of 156-177-174 for a 507 series.
Kassi Thomas (21st) had 168-134-179 for a 481, Montana Boyer (27th) had 163-129-156 for a 448, Rybecca Rennie (34th) had 155-129-143 for a 427, and Halley DeOrio (38th) had 151-125-147 for a 423.
With the top two individuals moving on, Sandy Valley's Nick Hughes placed 47th at the district tournament with games of 137-143-193 for a 473.
