Sandy Valley and Garaway faced off in an important Inter-Valley Conference softball game.
The Lady Cardinals looked to have the game well in hand with a 3-1 advantage after six innings of play, only to watch as the Lady Pirates put six runs on the board in the top of the seventh for a 7-3 victory.
Kayla Campbell led the offensive attack with a single, double and an RBI.
Arianna Ott had two hits, and Mandi Williams and Makayla Loveless each drove in a run.
Loveless pitched all seven innings, giving up seven runs on nine hits. She struck out two and did not walk a batter.

Strasburg - 6
The Lady Cardinals bounced back to beat perennial-power Strasburg 7-6.
Meg Otte homered in the first inning and finished with two hits. Loveless had a two-run homer in the fourth inning. Izzy Hysong had an RBI single in the fourth.
Loveless picked up the win, giving up six runs on 10 hits, striking out three.

The Lady Cardinals won both games of a triangular this past Saturday, beating Indian Valley 3-2.
Otte and Hysong each drove in a run for the winners. Loveless went all seven innings on the mound, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out four.

Ott was nearly unhittable on the mound, allowing just two hits over six innings, striking out three.
Otte, Loveless and Ott each had two hits, and Bella Woodin swiped two bases.
Sandy Valley (7-1) was to host Coshocton on April 13; before traveling to Tusky Central on April 17; to Newcomerstown on April 19; and to East Canton on April 20.
