Offenberger powers Sandy Valley past Strasburg

Sandy Valley beat Strasburg 5-3 thanks to the pitching of Cameron Woods and the bat of Blake Offenberger.

Woods pitched six strong innings, giving up three runs on seven hits, striking out seven. Michael Roberts picked up the save with a scoreless seventh inning.

Offenberger went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Garaway - 10

Sandy Valley - 6

The Cardinals were beaten by Garaway 10-6. Jared Eichleberger paced the way with two hits.

Minerva - 6

Sandy Valley - 3

Sandy Valley traveled to Minerva for a double header this past Saturday, dropping the first game 6-3.

Jacob Walker led the way offensively with three singles and a run scored.

Dante Tucci was 2-for-3; Nelson Mozden singled twice and drove in two runs; and Roberts had a double.

Xavier Sarver pitched the first four innings, giving up three runs, two earned, on six hits. He struck out four and walked three.

Donnie Slack went the final two innings, allowing three earned runs on two hits. He struck out two and walked two.

Minerva - 5

Sandy Valley - 4

Jared Eichleberger pitched all six innings in the second game, allowing four earned runs on seven hits, striking out three and walking one.

Walker had an RBI double and scored a run; and Cameron Woods and Eichleberger each had a base hit and run scored.

Sandy Valley (5-5) was to host Coshocton on April 13; before traveling to Buckeye Trail on April 14; to Tusky Central on April 17; and to Newcomerstown on April 19. The boys will host Malvern on Thursday, April 20.
