Sandy Valley boys are second at triangular

Sandy Valley hosted a triangular with East Canton and Malvern, with the boys placing second.

East Canton finished first with 100 points, followed by the Cardinals with 44 and Malvern with 29.

Placing first were the 4x800 (9:19) consisting of Isaac Knight, Michael Lewton, Bronson Frank and Dean Freitag; Alek Rymer in the 400 (55.58); Kinzy Swiger in the discus (118'10); and Francesco Borsellino in the shot (44'2).

Finishing second were Brendon O'Bradovich in the long jump (15'11) and the 4x400 (4:02) consisting of Rymer, Jordan Finlayson, Lewton and Knight.

Thirds went to Zane Bolyard in the discus (103'6), Bryce Brummel in the long jump (15'4.5), Freitag in the 3200 (12:27) and high jump (5'), and Finlayson in the 400 (59.16).

Placing fourth were Knight in the pole vault (7'6), O'Bradovich in the 200 (26.27), Rymer in the 800 (2:20), Freitag in the 110 hurdles (20.96), Alec Mosberger in the 100 (12.49), Bolyard in the shot (36'6) and Lewton in the 1600 (5:09).

Sandy Valley hosted the Ed Lidderdale Invitational, with the boys placing seventh with seven points.

The 4x800 consisting of Lewton, Rynmer, Frank and Knight was fourth in 8:58.08; Rymer finished fifth in the 400 (54.07); and Swiger

was sixth in the discus (123'10).

Sandy Valley finished second at the Ridgewood triangular with 37 points. The hosts finished with 116, and Tusky Central was third with 16.

Francesco Borsellino had the only first on the day, winning the shot with a throw of 41'7.

Seconds went to the 4x800 (9:33) consisting of Bronson Frank, Isaac Knight, Dean Freitag and Michael Lewton; Aleks Rymer in the 400 (55.4); Lewton in the 3200 (11:42); the 4x400 (4:03.3) consisting of Jordan Finlayson, Knight, Lewton and Rymer; and Kinzy Swiger in the discus (108'10).

Placing third were Nash Monroe in the 1600 (5:35.4), Knight in the 800 (2:28.9), Rymer in the 200 (24.6), Frank in the 3200 (12:18), Freitag in the high jump (5'), and Swiger in the shot (37'6).

Fourths went to Freitag in the 110 hurdles (22.5) and 1600 (5:41.2), Nick Capillo in the 3200 (13:19), Brandon O'Bradovich in the long jump (16'5.25), and Zane Bolyard in the discus (104'7).

At the West Holmes Invitational, the 4x800 consisting of Michael Lewton, Dean Freitag, Bronson Frank and Isaac Kngiht placed fifth in 9:21.7); Francesco Borsellino was sixth in the shot (42'1.25); and Kinzy Swiger was seventh in the discus (121'5).

Girls Track

Sandy Valley finished third in a triangular with 37 points. East Canton took first with 92 and Malvern was second with 43.

The Lady Cardinals had two wins on the day - Kye Mastri in the pole vault (6') and the 4x800 (11:37) consisting of Kiannah Sarver, Mercedes Sarver, Ruby Behm and Ana Daniska.

Seconds went to the 4x200 (2:00), M. Sarver in the 1600 (6:26) and 800 (2:49), K. Sarver in the 3200 (13:33), the 4x400 (4:52), and Baylee Offenberger in the high jump (4'4).

Finishing third were Meghan Hughes in the 100 (13.9) and 200 (29.36), and Behm in the 400 (1:15).

Placing fourth were Offenberger in the 200 (30.14), Allison Eyster in the discus (75'7) and Alana Hill in the shot (29'4).

At the Sandy Valley Lidderdale Invitational, the girls finished seventh with 14.5 points.

Offenberger was second in the high jump, clearing 4'10; K. Sarver was fifth in the 3200 (13:25.76); the 4x200 consisting of A. Costello, O. Costello, Offenberger and Behm was fifth in 2:00.13; Hill was sixth in the shot (31'4); and M. Sarver was sixth in the 800 (2:44.81).

Halie Sciury had the best finish for Sandy Valley at the West Holmes Invitational, placing second in the long jump with a leap of 16'5.75.

The 4x800 consisting of Kiannah Sarver, Mercedes Sarver, Anna Daniska and Ruby Behm finished sixth in 11:54.5).

The 4x400 consisting of Alicia Costello, Olivia Costello, K. Sarver and Halie Sciury was seventh in 4:45.71.

Alana Hill was eighth in the shot (31'4.25).

The Lady Cardinals finished third at a triangular at Ridgewood.

Placing first were Mercedes Sarver in the 800 (2:46.8), Halie Sciury in the 400 (1:06.3) and the 4x800 (12:24) consisting of Ruby Behm, Kiannah Sarver, M. Sarver and Maggie Lampe.

Seconds went to K. Sarver in the 1600 (6:19), Sciury in the long jump (15'3), Meghan Hughes in the pole vault (6'6), and the 4x400 (4:35.8) consisting of Sciury, Alicia Costello, Olivia. Costello and K. Sarver.

Finishing third were M. Sarver in the 1600 (6:22), Behm in the 400 (1:18.2), Baylee Offenberger in the high jump (4'4) and Alana Hill in the shot (27').

Placing fourth were O. Costello in the 100 (14.8), Daniska in the 1600 (6:51.2), Lampe in the 400 (1:28.9) and 3200 (18:57), Hughes in the 200 (30.9) and Julianna Borsellino in the discus (87'1).

The hosts finished first with 75.5 points, followed by Tusky Central with 54.5 and Sandy Valley with 41.

Sandy Valley will compete in the Stark County Invitational at Perry this Saturday, April 22l; and travel to Garaway for a triangular with Newcomerstown on Tuesday, April 25.
