Sandy Valley improves to 9-5

Seven innings where not enough when Sandy Valley hosted Ridgewood in an IVC baseball battle.

Dante Tucci's two-out single in the bottom of the eighth inning scored Dylan Sterling with the winning run, as the Cardinals came away with an 8-7 victory.

Tucci and Xavier Sarver finished with two his apiece.

Nelson Mozden pitched the first seven and 1/3 innings, giving up just one earned run, while striking out 12.

Paul Roberts came on to record the last two outs of the eighth inning to gain the win.

Tusky Central - 1

Cameron Woods pitched a complete game 1-hitter, striking out five.

Tucci remained hot at the plate with two hits, and Michael Roberts had three hits, including a triple and a double.

Coshocton - 1

Xavier Sarver allowed just one hit in seven innings of work in leading Sandy Valley past Coshocton 5-1.

Leading the way offensive were Michael Roberts and Dante Tucci with three hits apiece.

Buckeye Trail - 1

Roberts collected two doubles for the winners, and Jared Eichelberger earned the win as he gave up just one run in five innings of work, striking out two.

Sandy Valley (9-5) will travel to East Canton on Monday, April 24; and to Garaway on Wednesday, April 26.
