Another invitational, another title for the East Canton boys track team.
The Hornets amassed 124.5 points to easily beat the hosts at the Larry Cogan Invitational, held this past Friday at Carrollton.
The 4x200 consisting of Nathaniel Sundheimer, Cody Vacco, Mitch Mitchell and Zach McClaskey placed first with a meet record time of 1:31.65.
The 4x100 broke the meet record as it finished first with a time of 44.65. Members of the squad are Travis Nelson, Vacco, Mitchell and Wyatt Deutschman.
Josh Conrad won the 800 with a meet-record time of 1:57.52.
Also winning was McClaskey in the 110 hurdles (15.58) and 300 hurdles (40.77).
Placing second were Joel Berger in the 300 hurdles (41.73); Mitchell in the 200 (23.24); Conrad in the high jump (6'); and Anthony Reder in the triple jump (32'5).
Finishing third were James McCullough in the 400 (53.03); Cody Johnson in the discus (124'5); and Colt Hemphill in the high jump (5'8).
Fourths went to Conrad in the 1600 (4:31.59); Deutschman in the 200 (24.6); and Johnson in the shot (42'10.75).
Placing fifth were the 4x800 (8:48.17) consisting of Demetrius Snellenberger, Mason Cain, Tony Cappillo and Jacob Bellamy; Hemphill in the 800 (2:04.75); Vacco in the long jump (19'4); and Tariq Hmidan in the triple jump (30'10.5).
Berger was sixth in the 110 hurdles (17.14).
Sevenths went to Mitchell in the long jump (18'9); and Michael Hanna in the triple jump (30').
Hemphill was eighth in the 1600 (4:47.15).
The Lady Hornets finished 11th at Carrollton.
Alaynah Richards was third in the triple jump with a distance of 27'3.
Placing fifth were the 4x800 (11:01) consisting of Ja'Bria Knight, Cameiya Newell-Owens, Ashlynn Almasy and Brianna Martino; and Alexis Pennell in the long jump (14'7).
Dana Taylor was sixth in the discus (97'6).
Sevenths went to Martino in the 400 (1:11.01) and Skyler Fernandez in the shot (33'4).
Placing eighth were the 4x200 (2:01.27) consisting of Kasey Haines, Bria Robinson, Knight and Pennell; and Marie Murphy in the 3200 (13:06.65).
East Canton will compete in the Austintown Invitational this Saturday, May 6.
