Lady Cardinals improve to 18-3

The Lady Cardinals opened up the week with a hard-fought 6-4 win over Tusky Central.

Sandy Valley took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI sacrifice fly from Makayla Loveless and an RBI double from Mandi Williams.

Meg Otte and Alyssa Sines both had two hits to lead the offense.

Loveless pitched the first six inning to earn the win. She gave up four runs on three hits, striking out three.

Arianna Ott came on in the seventh and recorded the last three outs to earn the save.

Ridgewood - 1

Sandy Valley pounded out 19 hits during a 10-1 win over Ridgewood.

Otte went 4-for-5 with two RBIs; Kayla Campbell singled three times and drove in three runs; Izzy Hysong and Williams both singled twice; Loveless went 2-for-5 with a double; Ott had two hits and an RBI; and Alex Howell and Alyssa Sines each had two hits and an RBI.

Ott went the distance to record the win. She allowed no earned runs on three hits.

Sandy Valley (18-3, 13-2) will close out the regular season today (May 12) when it travels to Hiland.
