Christ Memorial Church decorated for the holidays The annual holiday decorating at Christ Memorial Church in Robertsville took place on Dec. 3. Church volunteers colorfully decorated the sanctuary and the outside front of the building.
The Nov. 15 meeting of the Little Sandy Creek Ruritan Club was held at the East Canton Church of God. There were 24 members and two guests present. President Dick Clapper called the meeting to order and Reverend Terry Bailey gave the invocation. Dick Beck led the singing.
CHRISTMAS SERVICES The East Canton Church of God will host its Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m. Little Country Church in Waynesburg will hold a candle light Christmas Eve service at 6:30 p.m. Mt. Zion Community Church will host a candlelight service and musical on Dec. 23.
This month's Free Community Meal at Otterbein United Methodist Church is Dec. 20. The meal is served from 56:30 p.m. and includes beef tips and noodles, corn, applesauce, rolls, beverages and dessert. This outreach ministry is sponsored by the FaithKeepers Sunday school class.
ADVENT BIBLE SERIES The North Industry United Methodist Church will begin an Advent Bible Series for both Sunday School and Worship called The Redemption of Scrooge led by Pastor Jeri Johnson.
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. This is mostly because of its simplicity. Thanksgiving has been able to avoid much of the commercialism that has overtaken the other holidays. We surround ourselves with family and friends and food.

Local artist Diane Betz Granger as well as several of her art students displayed their art at the Algonquin Mill's Fall Art Festival held Oct. 7, 8 and 9, bringing home 14 ribbons.
