Mike and Molly Murphy of Magnolia recently visited their son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Julianne Murphy in Hawaii and took the Press-News with them. They traveled there to see their new grandson, Liam, who was born on May 19.
Canton South High School held its graduation ceremony at the Canton Baptist Temple on May 27. The class colors were crimson and charcoal, the class flower was the red lily and the class song was "Don't Blink" by Kenny Chesney.

Sandy Valley High School held its graduation ceremony on Sunday, May 25 inside the school's gymnasium. The class motto was "Cherish yesterday, live today, dream tomorrow." -- Richard Bach. The valedictorians for the class of 2014 are Caitlyn McCaulley and Rebekah Molnar.
Melanie A. Rybar, of East Canton was among 3,678 students from Miami University who received degrees during spring commencement exercises Saturday, May 11 at Yager Stadium. Rybar received a Bachelor of Science degree.

Raymond Helmick, of East Sparta, has thrilled young and old, as he has made his Santa appearances throught the greater Stark County area. A few years ago this 88-year-old lady and her grandchild had their photo taken with "Santa" at the Canton Centre Mall.
