Sandy Valley, runners-up in the Inter Valley Conference a season ago, returns eight lettermen from a squad that went 17-9 overall and 11-5 in conference play. Head Coach Brian Gamble is entering his eighth year at the helm of the baseball program. He has an overall mark of 97-83.

Sandy Valley graduate Andra Lehotay has earned All-American honors as a member of the Walsh University's indoor track team. Competing at the Division II National Championships in Birmingham, Ala., Lehotay finished fourth in the mile with a time of 4:45.04.

Sandy Valley's youth wrestling program has its first ever Ohio Youth Wrestling Association State Champion. Competing at Akron Firestone High School, sixth-grader Dominic Hoffarth won the state title, dominating the 90-pound bracket. In the finals, Hoffarth beat Lake's J.T. Chance 6-2.
