Music in the Park will be back in Magnolia 

Four nights of free entertainment will return to Magnolia this summer. Music in the Park will return on Mondays in July at the Magnolia Village Park with a different theme each night. All performances start at 7 p.m.

KISS tribute band to perform at 167th Stark County Fair

Sandy and Beaver Canal Days return to second weekend in Magnolia 

The Sandy and Beaver Canal Days return to Magnolia Aug. 12-14. The weekend features traditional events including a free children's fishing derby sponsored by Stark Parks on Aug. 13. Children's activities are set up throughout the weekend at Magnolia Park as is live entertainment.

Sandy Valley Pool opens May 28 

The Sandy Valley Pool will open for business on Saturday, May 28. Hours will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. A concession stand will be open and will sell pizza, lunchables, slushies, pretzels, nachos and soft-serve ice cream.

East Sparta Homecoming Festival set for June 23-25 

East Sparta will host its 78th annual Homecoming June 23-25. Plenty of concessions, rides and entertainment will be part of the three-day event. Rides will be provided by the Nolan Amusements & Company. Advance sales tickets will be $12 as will the Saturday matinee tickets.

Canton South graduation 

The Canton South class of 2015 gathered at the Palace Theater in downtown Canton May 26 for graduation ceremonies. Principal Jeff Moore was the first to welcome the newest graduating class before the Canton South choir performed. Moore then brought Tessa Hollinger to the stage.

The 2015 class of East Canton High School held its commencement ceremony on May 24 in the school's auditorium. A total of 58 students crossed the stage to get their diploma. Valedictorian for the class was Megan Gothard. Salutatorian was Rachel Vincent.
